WCOC's Manitoba

The WCOC’s were held a couple of weeks ago in Spruce Woods Provincial Park, Manitoba on the tricky, tricky Hog’s Back map (site of the 2009 COC’s). The three championship races were held over three days on the most technically challenging terrain Manitoba has to offer. All three races were part of the Canada Cup Elite Series- http://www.orienteering.ca/events/canada-cup/

Prior to the WCOC championship races a sprint weekend was held in Winnipeg on some great sprint maps. Eight races were held over two days! (4 races per day) concluding with a barbeque after the last race. Also in conjunction with the championships was the Sass Peepre Training Camp for juniors and adults.

The weather was great, well a little wet for the long distance but was perfect for the middle and sprint. The small but mighty Manitoba organizing committee did a great job putting on a very fun weekend of orienteering! Thank you!
